JANUARY 2001 MEETING:

·       New Product Review:  CrossEyes to “Reveal Codes” in Word
Stylizer to Automate the Application of Styles

·       A Discussion on Metadata

Dear Computer Professional:

King, Herpel and Associates is pleased to invite you to the January 2001 meeting of The Southern California Word Legal User’s Group.  We would like to thank the firm of Mayer Brown & Platt and also the Microsoft Corporation for offering the use of their offices for this session.

First on the agenda will be a demonstration of two new products from Levit & James, Incorporated, CrossEyes and Stylizer.  These add-ins for Word deliver features that are not available in Word, but sought after by Word users in the legal community.  CrossEyes is a product that will “Reveal the Codes” in Word.  As with the WP Reveal Codes feature, CrossEyes will open a window at the bottom of a document that will show “codes” reflecting existing formatting changes.  The new Stylizer product provides a quick way to automate the applying of styles, designed to be used on documents that have been produced without the use of styles.

Second on the agenda will be a discussion on Word Metadata, an especially sensitive issue for law firms dealing with confidential information.  Don’t miss this opportunity to hear how other firms  are dealing with this issue.

To accommodate firms located in different parts of the city, we will be repeating the meeting, holding it first in Downtown Los Angeles, followed by the Westside. Given everyone’s busy schedules, a lunch will be catered compliments of King, Herpel and Associates and Mayer, Brown & Platt.
