AUGUST 2001 MEETING:

E-Learning in the Legal Environment

King, Herpel and Associates is pleased to invite you to the August 2001 meeting of The Southern California Word Legal User’s Group.  At this meeting, we will address e-Learning as it relates to software training and support.  We will also address its impact on the legal office in terms of how it will affect the deployment of new software and on-going support issues.  Be at this meeting for a complete overview of developing, implementing, and working with an e-Learning application.

Presenting at this meeting will be Susan Pasfield, partner at the firm of TutorPro.  TutorPro is a established London-based developer of e-training software for the legal environment, that has recently partnered with King, Herpel and Associates to develop modules for the American legal market.  Both firms are excited about the complimentary talents and experience this partnership will provide in terms of the new products being produced and a demonstration of a Word e-training module will be shown at the meeting.

Ms. Pasfield will provide the group with a broad range of information including an introduction to the basic concepts of e-Learning all the way through specifics about developing e_Learning modules.  Discover the specific tools that are required to develop an e-Learning application.  Learn about the different approaches to e-Learning applications including JIT, and why it is especially suited for attorney skill building.  What are the key ingredients in every e-Learning module?  How does e-Learning restructure our concepts of classroom training?    Be at the meeting for a an extensive introduction to latest software training medium.

To accommodate firms located in different parts of the city, we will be repeating the meeting, holding it first in downtown Los Angeles at the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, followed by a Westside meeting at Microsoft’s Santa Monica offices.  A lunch will be catered compliments of  King, Herpel and Associates and the law firm of Skadden Arps.  We would like to thank Skadden Arps and also the Microsoft Corporation, for accommodating us with the August sessions.
